BRAZZAVILLE is the capital of the Republic of Congo, on the Congo River opposite Kinshasa. Founded on 19 September 1880 and named after Pierre Savorgnan de Brazza.

A cultural crossroads of more than 1.8 million residents, it was designated a City of Music by UNESCO in 2013.
